Weighted

Step lightly in the thin spaces between worlds
Where fossils press feet against buried ages.
Wind and water salt-lick skin, sculpting the future.
Descend respectfully into the ocean of time.
It holds the spirits of those who slaved
Whose memories have evaporated.
